On April 8, 2025 I had the opportunity to represent Newmarket High School at the 2025 Youth Summit. This was an incredible opportunity to meet the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Council, and Town Staff. Delegates from various schools in Newmarket had the chance to voice their opinions regarding town events and present youth-centric proposals to the Council! It was such an honour to present ideas to Town Council, connect with talented youth in the community and try on the Chain of Office, courtesy of Mayor John Taylor. Thank you so much to the Town of Newmarket for hosting this summit!
Exciting update: Inspired by Newmarket High School’s biennial Art-A-Thon, we brainstormed a summer event that brings together Newmarket High’s Healthy Schools Initiative and the Central York Leadership Group’s proposal for a community mural painting. More details to follow!
