On May 8, 2025, the Healthy Schools Council hosted their May Mindfulness fair, the final one of my high school journey. The goal of our team is to make information regarding mental and physical wellbeing more accessible to the student body. This fair had the most engagement we have ever seen in the past, reaching hundreds of students. Through this initiative, I have learned about teamwork, organizational effectiveness, and creating momentum. Seeing younger council members flourish and engage, I am confident that the spirit with which I spearheaded this grassroots movement back in 2022 will prosper amongst our student body long after I graduate.

Post #86: Ethics Bowl Ontario Championships 2025

The Ethics Bowl is a practice of genuinity, discourse, and humility, as youth from various backgrounds come together to try and tackle some of the world’s most pressing, nuanced issues. A particular highlight of the event was Professor Lu Vada Dunford’s lecture on Consciousness and AI. These Provincials were unforgettable, and I would like to extend a warm thank you to the organizers of the Ethics Bowl, from the University of Toronto faculty to the undergraduate network, for shaping my high school journey since Grade 9 through critical discussion.

The Ethics Bowl is a chance to discuss prevalent ethical issues in our society in a constructive and meaningful way. This is my third year participating in the Ethics Bowl, and after an incredibly successful Regional competition, my team has officially qualified to partake in Provincials this March!

I was my team leader for “The Quackers,” but as a whole, I had the opportunity to mentor a total of nineteen participants from Newmarket High School that were split amongst three teams.
