On May 1, I was recognized by Magna International Inc. and Neighborhood Network in honour of National Volunteer Week for my efforts and commitment towards my school and local community. In this lovely ceremony, I heard stories of volunteerism from other graduating high school students across Aurora, Georgina, King Township, Newmarket, and Whitchurch-Stouffville, and I am so humbled to stand alongside them as recipients of the 2025 Give Back Awards.
The Central York Leadership Group (CYLG) hosted its Set for Success: High School and Beyond Event on November 15, 2024 This brand new Networking Seminar was envisioned for high school students to learn more about how they can start and continue to make an impact through volunteering, high school extracurriculars, and post-secondary education! As the Co-President of the CYLG and an MC for this event, I was pleased to see it through conceptualization, planning, and execution.
On Sunday, September 29th, 2024 I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer with the Central York Leadership Group at MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy’s 3rd Community BBQ. The event had a great turnout of around 500 people, and I made some invaluable connections with community leaders. I had the chance to connect with Premier Doug Ford; MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy; Deputy Mayor Tom Vegh; and Jacob Gal, Director of Operations at York Pride!
