Recount Writing

Ever wonder about the key concepts of recount writing? Then you have come to the right place!!! In my post today I will be talking about recount writing and my personal experience of writing a recount on my visit to Quebec. Thanks!!!

In school, my class is learning how to write a recount with detail and linking words with the literacy process; pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing, conferencing, final drafting, reflecting and literacy center. Some linking words are First, Then, Next, Afterward, Finally…Recount writing is an amazing thing I would like to share to you about.

Pre-writing is when you write down your ideas in point-form. It is for organization. Drafting is when you write the first copy of your recount. Remember to add detail, punctuation, capitalization, linking words etc. In revising, you look over your own work and judge it by listing what you did good. During editing, a peer and yourself write down what needs improvement. For conferencing, you go to meet the teacher. Together you write down “2 stars and a wish”. Final drafting is when you write your good copy with all your improvements. Reflecting is when you look over all your work and write down if it makes you happy😊, sad😢 or meh😐. Finally, literacy center is when you can play literature games.😜

Currently on my recount, I am on drafting. My recount is about my visit to Quebec, over the summer. It is going to be one big recount!!! I am excited to go through all the steps for my recount. I am going to put all the details, grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, linking words… I would dearly prefer an A+!!!😁 This is going to be my first recount of the year (excluding this personal journal) and I want to make it one of my best.

Recount writing is an outstanding thing we are learning at school. I can’t wait to finish them satisfyingly and learn something new.📜
