Blue Miner

Blue Miner

Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog! I would like to start the New Year with a painting I made called ‘Blue Miner.’ This art piece is actually a re-creation of a beautiful painting called ‘Red Miner’ by an indigenous artist named Alex Janvier. I named my piece ‘Blue Miner’ because I used primarily cool colours, while Janvier used primarily warm colours. I decided to recreate this piece of art because it intrigued me and it matched my style. I adored how it could be interpreted as many different things. A portrayal of emotions, a nice blend of colours, a burst of imagination, an island, or maybe a shape of some sort. This type of free-style, abstract art is gorgeous and I was so excited to recreate something like this. I created this work of art with acrylic paint on canvas, using a pencil for preliminary sketches and a paintbrush for the final medium. I love this art piece because it required a minimal amount of base colours and a lot of mixed colours, which let me come up with new combinations and let me use more creativity. I hope you like this art piece and I wish you all the best for 2019!!
