Post #43: Waterfall – Earth’s Natural Beauty

Waterfall - Earth's Natural Beauty

The Earth is a magnificent place. When I think about nature, I yearn for freshness and what better way to find that then a grand source of water – a waterfall. The rush of it falling down that you can hear paired with the spray of droplets on your face. The wind that blows right through your hair, and that smell of clean air your nose breathes in. I find waterfalls to be really pretty, the wonderful blue hue that just jumps out at you as well as all the nitpicky details, like the small plant life growing within. The time of day is the evening, which I think is the most beautiful. There are so many colours in the sky, vibrant pinks and oranges which are the final traces of sunlight as it sets below the horizon. Using watercolours, I was able to create a very colourful effect as well as small blurred details, like a dwindly fence and some birds in the distance. I added some depth into my painting by making the things I wanted to be farther apart less detailed and vibrant while the things I wanted to be closer were bursting with blues, purples, greens and whites. Lose yourself in the painting, and open your imagination to the beauty of our planet. Welcome to the waterfall!
